If you are new to writing poetry, don't be afraid! Come and see how you can use your senses, imagination and creativity to compose works which reflect the world as you see it.

Suzanne Simons, your leader says,
“Poetry is not a luxury,” wrote Audre Lorde, poet and activist. “It is a vital necessity of our existence. It forms the quality of the light within which we predicate our hopes and dreams toward survival and change.” Poetry can also provide solace to us individually as well as bring us together in community. This series of four poetry workshops will include reading of poems by some beloved poets as well as new voices, and writing our own poems all in a supportive and collaborative environment. Optional prompts will be provided.

Participate in all, some or one of the workshops. The series is tailored to all levels of poetic experience, ranging from brand-new to poetry to experienced readers and writers of this literary art.
Attend one, two, three, or all four and pay as you go. It is $20.00 per class. Your fee covers the costs of facility rentals and class leader fee.
